My Thoughts
Everyone Can Marry? [My Thoughts]

We all should be able to get married gay or straight!
When I started my company I didn’t use my own name (Dimopoulos), as it doesn’t roll of the tongue very well. So I came up with the name My Love Story. It made sense to me as I was telling stories of couples love and connection with one another.
I was horrified to see in this day and age on BBC Question Time that we are even having the debate that homosexual people should be allowed to marry like heterosexual people! Of course they should. Why should we confuse and complicate things by having different terminology for when two people come together to elope just because of their sexual preference. We don’t for people with different colour skin because it would simply be wrong. The same goes in this case. It scares me that we live in a so called “developed nation” but it takes us so long to implement what I see as basic human rights.
When naming my company it never crossed my mind to call it My Straight Love Story or My Gay Love Story.
Marriage is Marriage
Love is Love

Why I do what I do?
It’s always a good question to ask. Evaluating what you do can make you appreciate how far you have come and see where you can improve.
When you get messages like the one below from a bride you know you are doing something right!
“Just wanted to send a quick text as we wait to fly out :-) thank u sooo much for being a part of our day and helping to make it one we will never forget. I/we couldn't have asked for a better person to capture those moments! Look forward to seeing you and the product of your hard work when we get back. Big x”

This visit to the jewellers started back last August, when my girlfriend and I were left at my cousins family holiday home on the island of Zia (Greece) without a car. We decided to negotiate ancient walks around the island. One took us down to a beautiful secluded bay where I found this shell which I though would make a nice necklace for my girlfriend. This shell took added significance as a reminder to the difficulty we found ourselves in, in the hours that followed. The sun began to set and as we were heading back we lost our pathway through the woods. It took us a good hour of searching to find the path again and almost got to the point where we thought we would have to share a bed with the goats! To our relief we made it home just before darkness fell.
A few months ago I did a Wedding Fayre where I met the very lovely Alicja from Holts Jewellery www.holtsgems.com. I told her the story and how I wanted to turn this shell into a necklace. She was like 'no problem, come and see us'. The other day in a rush to sort a present out for our 6th anniversary I thought I would finally have this necklace made. I cycled down to the BLING street that is Hatton Gardens. I felt a bit inadequate with my little shell surrounded by so much shiny stuff! However, I needn't have as Alicja put me at ease straight away. We discussed what could be done, she listened to my ideas and nothing was a problem. It was all sorted in less than a week and the girlfriend was very pleased, as was I.
I always listen to my clients and try to provide a service were they feel they can come to me and nothing is too hard to achieve with a little effort. This is exactly how I felt when I went in to Holts and it was a breath of fresh air compared to my experiences with so many companies. Can't recommend them enough!
How Much Say Do Men Get About Thier Wedding?
01/02/11

Having delved deeper in to the industry I have seen that it is mainly catered towards the female market. Most the readership for blogs and magazines is female. Do men just don't care? I don't think this is the case. As a visual person myself I care about the details. I don't think my wedding would be any different to any other event that I would organise. I see grooms that get really in to the day and have loads of fun. I think that there is an air that they shouldn't care and they probably feel it's a female domain because its geared towards them! There are a few blogs out there that are for the grooms. I have listed them below!
Please feel free to leave your thoughts.
